Content and structure:
Understanding the industry
Module 1 will give you a basic understanding of the shipping industry. Focus will be on the role of shipping in the global economy and an introduction to shipping economics.
Understanding the global environment
Modules 2 and 3 will give you a background for understanding, how the world economy works. This will include the drivers for globalisation, trade patterns, supply chain management and the logistical implications of this development.
Focus on maritime issues
Modules 4 and 5 are devoted to industry specific issues, reflecting the holistic view of the business; they cover maritime law, ship design, and technical operational management, including the important aspect of information and communication technology development.
Core management issues
Modules 6, 7 and 8 will focus on central topics of business management, dealing with investment analysis, finance and risk management, organisational theory and company strategy.
The Integrated Strategy Project (ISP)
The last part of the programme is the writing of the thesis, following a three-step process, where each step is concluded by an oral presentation, and the final presentation serves as the oral defense of the ISP/thesis. The aim is to demonstrate an ability to analyse a practical problem in detail, drawing upon all the knowledge from the programme. An introduction to each of the three steps will be given during the last module.
Format
The CBS Executive MBA in Shipping and Logistics is a modular programme with eight week-long modules scheduled over the course of 22 months. Learning is supported by a virtual platform, where individual/group assignments and group discussions enhance the learning process. Teaching takes place in Denmark, Germany and the UK. (Venues subject to change.)

The demand for advanced education within professional fields of study has grown in recent years. This demand has urged a shift towards industry-driven programmes where senior and mid-career managers seek higher competencies.
Målgruppe
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognised academic institution or equivalent;
- Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or similar documented qualification;
- Minimum five years of work experience in a relevant field;
- Two personal recommendations.
Prior to admission, applicants are interviewed and an individual assessment of the suitability of the applicant is made based upon the above requirements and the result of the interview. For long distance applicants the interview may be conducted by telephone.

Eksamen og diplom
There will be an assignment focusing on a challenge related to your own business for each module, ending with an oral defence. During the last part of the programme you will work on your Integrated Strategy Project (ISP) /Thesis through a three-step process. The final presentation serves as the oral defense of the ISP/thesis. The aim is to demonstrate an ability to analyse a practical problem in detail, drawing upon all the knowledge from the programme.

Financing your MBA in Shipping and Logistics
About 60% of all the participants in the Executive MBA Shipping & Logistics Programme are sponsored by their employers.
Fee details
The tuition fee of the programme is DKK 360,000 (Danish Kroner) – or approx. EUR 48,000 - to be paid in four equal instalments of DKK 90,000 at the beginning of each semester.1. DKK 90,000 – September 2025 (DKK 30,000 non-refundable registration fee and 60,000 based on an agreement after receipt of the acceptance letter)

3. DKK 90,000 – September 2026
4. DKK 90,000 – March 2027
Non-EU participants must pay an additional admissions fee of approx. DKK 15,000.
This fee does not include course material, travel and accommodation costs.
